Privacy Policy

Public creator information. For video creators, we collect information that is already public: subscriber counts, view counts, video counts, channel descriptions, and profile images, pulled directly from each platform's own official API (currently YouTube Data API v3 and Vimeo). This happens even before a creator claims their page, the same way a search engine indexes public information — it is not shared privately by the creator to us.

Account information. When you claim or create an account, we collect the email address used to sign in.

What you add yourself. Bio, rates, portfolio links, and any self-reported metric you choose to add. Self-reported numbers are stored and displayed separately from platform-verified numbers, and are always labeled as self-reported — never shown as if verified.

Your audience's contact information. If someone buys from your Storefront or submits their email through a lead magnet, we store that email so you can reach them. This is your data, not ours — you can export it at any time from your dashboard.

Payment information. Card and bank details are handled directly by Stripe, our payment processor. Videoster does not receive or store full card numbers.

To operate the service: render your page, verify your numbers, process payments, and connect brands with creators. To respond to support requests. To meet legal and tax obligations.

Platform metrics are kept as a historical record — re-fetched on a schedule and appended over time, not overwritten — so that a real growth trend can be shown, not just a single snapshot. Account and transaction records are kept while an account is active, and afterward for as long as reasonably needed for legal, tax, or dispute purposes.

Every creator can delete their own data directly, without waiting on us. If you've claimed your page, there's a real "Delete your account" option in your dashboard's Settings. If your page hasn't been claimed yet, you can request deletion from the page itself — sign in with the email address on file for that profile, and you'll be able to confirm deletion directly once that email is verified against our records. Either way, you can also reach support@videoster.com directly if you'd rather we handle it for you.

When we process a deletion request: your profile content (bio, rates, portfolio, connected-platform records, and similar) is permanently deleted, and your page's URL is replaced with a non-identifying token so the old link no longer resolves to your identity. One exception — our append-only activity log, kept specifically as evidence for payment disputes, is not deleted outright; the personal values inside it are replaced with a redaction marker instead, so the timing and sequence of past events remains provable without exposing your personal information. We also keep a one-way hash of your identity solely to prevent the same channel from being automatically re-collected in the future.

Videoster Inc. is a Canadian company and handles personal information in the course of commercial activity in accordance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). For individuals in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, we provide the rights required under the GDPR — access, correction, deletion, data portability, and objection — through the same contact address above.
