Payment & commission

How money actually moves — for brands, and for creators. One page, not five.

Two things are always separate

Storefront — courses, research, community, paid Q&As, bookings — is 0% Videoster commission, always, on any plan. Selling itself requires the $25/month plan; the 0% rate on what you sell doesn't change based on which plan you're on.

Brand deals — a brief a brand sent through Videoster that becomes a signed deal — carry a real commission, scaled by deal size. This applies whether or not you subscribe to the $25 plan, and only to deals Videoster itself sourced.

Brand-deal commission

Applied to a deal's agreed value. Separate from the $25/month creator subscription — free on either plan.

Deal valueCommission
Under $2,0009%
$2,000 to $10,0006%
$10,000 to $50,0004%
Over $50,0003%

Work you bring in yourself, however it settles, is never commissioned — this only applies to deals Videoster sourced. See Terms for the full, legally-binding language.

Escrow vs. direct pay

Decided entirely by the creator's own account country — never a choice either side makes per deal, and never determined by which plan the creator is on.

Escrow

Available when the creator's account country is the US, Canada, the UK, Switzerland, or the EU/EEA (34 countries). The brand's payment is held, then released once the brand approves delivered work — or automatically after 7 days if they don't respond.

Direct pay

Every other country. The brand's payment goes straight to the creator's own connected account at signing, with Videoster's commission already deducted. Videoster never holds this money at any point.

See Escrow Terms for the full country list and legal detail.
